Background and Challenge

A leading Indian agri-products company aimed to enhance visitor engagement and stakeholder understanding of its plant operations using Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). Partnering with Tata Elxsi, the company sought to replace traditional videos with interactive digital solutions, including a VR-based process walkthrough and an AR-powered drone experience. These innovations aimed to create an engaging, immersive learning platform, positioning the company as a pioneer in digital transformation for industrial training and stakeholder presentations.

The project required upgrading outdated SAP 1 & 2 plants' VR content with SAP 3 plant visuals and transforming the Senegal mining tour into a 360-degree immersive experience. Additionally, the AR drone experience needed an interactive remote-control simulation. Challenges included seamless integration, performance optimization on Oculus Quest 2 and iPads, and strict project timelines. Traditional methods failed to convey the plant’s operations effectively, necessitating a more detailed and immersive digital approach.

Scope of work

The project involved developing a VR-based process walkthrough and an AR-powered drone experience to enhance visitor engagement and operational understanding. The VR solution aimed to upgrade existing plant footage and integrate a 360-degree immersive experience for the Senegal mining facility.
